Tying a Midnight Flash Flu - Tube Fly

Tying a Midnight Flash Flu - Tube Fly

Previous Post Next Post
In recent years we have seen more and more fly tyers and anglers choosing to make use of heavier flash in the flies with great success. It seems like there is a solid link between these new designs and their overall appearance being similar to proven and effective spinning lures.

One of our favourite designs comes again from Future Fly's Marc Skovby modifying his Marabou pattern a step further by using tapers flash and a spun hair wing to create this awesome profile! The "Flash Flu" as we have tied it with Sea Trout colours for night time fishing in mind this one is the Midnight Flash Flu.

Step 5 Tie in 2 rubber legs half way on top and fold back underneath and tie down again, to give you 4 legs in total, they should reach about 1/2 to 2/3rd of the way back

Step 6 tie in a good bunch of shadow fox pelt in black equally spreading all the way around the tube, the length should be about 1/3rd of the way back so the taper continues with the flash. Next trim away the waste with a scalpel or scissors.
