Step By Step
Part 1 start by melting a small collar on the end of the liner tubing, to grip inside of the outer tubing. Place both tubes in the needle, add a little super glue to the liner tube where it joins the outer tube and slide on the tungsten balance tube, making sure the glue pulls under the tube. To finish the connection tie in your tying thread with an x pattern over the metal and plastic tubing until you can wrap the thread uniformly over the top of the 2, the glue should dry during this time.
Part 2 Make a small dubbing ball with peacock easy dubbing, then tie in equal thirds of bucktail in black, orange and yellow. The length should be about 3 times the length of the body making it 3/4 of the total fly length. §
Part 3 Tie in 3 strands of pearl flash, half way then double back for 6 total strands in the wing, next tie in copper mach 2 flatbraid to rib over dubbing. Take some peacock dubbing and cover the whole body creating a small taper from the tail down to the head. Finally twist the mach 2 flatbriad and wrap up the dubbed body to the head of the fly
Step 4 tie in black a black rooster hackle and wrap 3-5 times to make a good collar fibres about as long as the body of the fly.
Step 5 add a drop of super glue to the tubing and add a 6mm hybrid cone, push the cone into the hackle to secure it
Step 6 Cut of the tubing 3-4mm from the cone, melt the tube with a lighter and press the tube down with something flat to secure it tightly to the cone
Just add water
